Introduction

This module looks at how the adult learner can be involved from the earliest stages of course design right through to the final course evaluation.

The module is divided into three sections:

Before the Course

During the Course
After the Course

Each section looks at a particular stage in the life cycle of a course and suggests pointers for consideration. At intermittent points throughout the booklet there are Suggestions for Reflection exercises. These aim to encourage you to think about your own teaching and reflect on some of the points presented.

This material builds on a series of booklets developed for tutors in the Adult Education Centre, UCD. The content is based on current recommendations for best practice and draws on the experiences of tutors, course co-ordinators and support staff.
