Study skills achievement

It can be very useful to encourage your learners to evaluate their achievements at the end of the course. This will help them recognise their progress which is invaluable in maintaining their motivation and confidence.

One useful technique for self-assessment is SWOT-analysis - defining personal Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. You can recommend your learners use the following record sheet.

Record sheet: "SWOT-analysis"

You can also recommend that they think about the following main points when planning and reviewing their study skills development and achievement:

attitudes and readiness for learning

general management skills development (organising, management and monitoring their learning etc)

the level of study skills development

the level of social skills development (working and learning with others)

evaluation of study environment

personal learning style and strategy
